About Us

Lisa Barrett-Hardy has owned and operated Faraway Kennels for over 32 years. She received a degree in Animal Science and worked for a veterinarian for 9 years before taking over Faraway Kennels in 1989. She believes in individual quality care to make sure every pet who visits is happy and healthy. 

 The company is based on the belief that the customers' needs are of the utmost importance. The entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of business is from repeat customers and referrals. 

 Rates are very competitive and there is NO extra charge to give medications or to feed your own food ( which is recommended if your dog is sensitive to changes in diet.)

All dogs and cats must be vaccinated for everyone's safety.

Dogs : DHLP,Parvo, Rabies and Bordetella

Cats: FVRP, Rabies and Feline Leukemia

Mon thru Sat. 9 to 11am and 4 to 6 pm

Sunday 4 to 6 pm

Daily Rates​: Starting June 1, 2022

                  ​                  One Dog $40 per day​

                                    Two Dogs (​ same kennel) $55.00 per day

                                    Three Dogs( same kennel) $75.00 per day

                                     One Cat $25 per day​

Extras:

  • Playtimes- Ball or Frisbee playing off leash 15 minutes per time @ $5.00
  • Playtimes or walks required if pet is staying longer than 3 nights unless aggressive.
  • Nature Walks and potty breaks on leash walks for 15 minutes per time@ $5.00 each
  • Playtimes and Nature Walks are offered up to 3 times per day
  • Baths and Dips : $25.00 to $60.00
  • Nail Trims : $20.00
  • Credit Cards not accepted. Checks or cash , PayPal or Venmo
  • We require a 7 day notice of cancellation.
  • For the health of your pet, any dog that will not eliminate in the outdoor runs in a 24 hour period will be automatically walked and charged accordingly.(minimum of twice daily)
  • A $30 early or late fee will be applied unless a specific time is mutually agreed upon

Kennels are heated and air-conditioned

Dog Kennels are indoor/outdoor with indoor area being 4ft.x 7 ft. with outdoor area 16ft. long of concrete runs.
